Austin B. Kenney

Austin B. Kenney is an Associate in the Firm’s San Francisco Office, where he is involved in the following practices:

  • Construction Practice Group:  Mr. Kenney represents design professionals, homeowners and developers in the litigation of construction defect and professional liability claims.  He also provides advice and counsel to design professionals with respect to loss prevention, risk management, contractual and employment issues.
  • Financial Services Litigation Group:  Mr. Kenney counsels and defends financial institutions in consumer and commercial litigation involving mortgage, automotive and unsecured credit throughout California.
  • Sports and Athletics Practice Group:  Mr. Kenney defends professional sports teams and operating groups against product liability, premises liability and recreational liability claims. His involvement in these matters includes early resolution of disputes through the enforcement of contractual provisions such as assumption of risk, waiver of release, and pursuit of express and equitable indemnity and trial.

Mr. Kenney received his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder, Colorado, where he earned course credit from the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California.  He was a participant in the Colorado Law Mediation Program, providing mediation and conciliations services for the Community of Boulder. He was also a member of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society and a participant in the 2003 ABA Regional Negotiation Competition.

Mr. Kenney holds a B.A. from the University of California at San Diego, where he was on the Provost’s Honor Roll and a Warren College Scholars Program Invitee.  He is admitted to the State Bar Association in the State of California.
