Bernard J. Kornberg

Bernard J. Kornberg is an associate in the firm’s Bankruptcy/Creditors’ Rights and Consumer Finance practice groups, where he represents automotive finance companies and mortgage lenders in consumer bankruptcy cases of Chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 debtors.

Mr. Kornberg received his law degree from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, magna cum laude, and is admitted to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Bernard was an Extern for Federal Bankruptcy Judge Eileen Hollowell. He served as Articles Editor for the Arizona Law Review and received the Steptoe & Johnson Scholarship for Outstanding Second Year Member. While serving as editor, Mr. Kornberg authored State v. Martinez: The Arizona Supreme Court Applies and Upholds the State Sentencing Scheme in Light of Blakely, Arizona Law Review, Winter 2005, 47 Ariz L. Rev. 1073.

Mr. Kornberg received his B.A. degree in both Political Science and English from the University of California, Berkeley where he also served as the art and film critic for the student paper, The Daily Californian, and was President of the Berkeley Chapter of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

Mr. Kornberg is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California, and is a member of the San Francisco Bar Association.
