Robert J. Gandy
Robert J. Gandy joined Severson & Werson in 2009. Mr. Gandy is a litigation associate in the Firm’s Irvine office and is a member of the Mortgage Banking and Financial Services practice groups. Mr. Gandy represents major financial institutions, including banks, mortgage lenders, consumer financial companies and mortgage loan servicers, in all stages of litigation. Mr Gandy specializes in the representation of national mortgage lenders their defense against borrower actions involving lender liability, wrongful foreclosure, title claims, breach of contract, and violations of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA and Business & Professions Code § 17200.
Prior to joining Severson & Werson, Mr. Gandy specialized in representing national mortgage lenders and loan servicers in prosecuting and defending mortgage banking and loan servicing litigation.
Mr. Gandy received his juris doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Gandy was a Maritime Law Journal technical editor. He also participated in the law school Intensive Advocacy Program, during which he was awarded the Brennen Outstanding Advocacy award. He was also Student Bar Association president and was appointed by the law school dean as the law school representative to the Board of Trustees. He studied abroad at Trinity University in Ireland and Charles University in the Czech Republic. During the summer of 2001, Mr. Gandy worked for the University of San Francisco School of Law, Center for Law and Global Justice training judges, lawyers, and law student in Vietnam. Mr. Gandy graduated from California State University Hayward with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Prior to law school, Mr. Gandy worked as a juvenile corrections officer for the State of Washington and as a juvenile probation officer in Clark County Nevada |
