(Despite defendant’s timely request, the trial court failed to enter a statement of decision in this complex case of claimed misrepresentations and omissions in the solicitation of a $20 million investment in a biomedical startup. The Court of Appeal finds that in this case the error was prejudicial since it prevented effective appellate review of the appealed judgment, leaving undetermined which representations and omissions the trial court had found as well as other elements of the negligennt misrepresentation claim. The remedy for the prejudicial error was reversal and remand for entry of a statement of decision.)
