The CCPA enacted in 2018, creates new consumer rights relating to the access to, deletion of, and sharing of personal information that is collected by businesses. It also requires the California Attorney General to solicit broad public participation and adopt regulations to further the CCPA’s purposes. Today, the AG issued proposed regulations designed to establish procedures to facilitate consumers’ new rights under the CCPA and to provide guidance to businesses for how to comply. The text of the proposed regulations can be found here.  The Attorney General’s Statement of Purpose regarding the regulations can be found here.  The deadline to submit written comments to the Attorney General regarding the proposed regulations is December 6, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. (PST).
